I. Studying in Hunan

  • There are 12 universities in Hunan are approved to recruit international students, and general academic Programs for international students include:
  • Academic programs for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees.
  • Academic programs for advanced studies of Chinese or other subjects (non-degree education) .
  • Academic programs for short-term studies of traditional Chinese cultures, such as Chinese arts, Wushu, Calligraphy, Paper-cutting art and Chinese traditional music, etc.
  • Academic programs for participating in the summer or winter camps with the theme of visiting places of interest in China, and experiencing Chinese culture.

  • Whom we are looking for
    If you are schools in USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, etc.
    Or if you are college/university students with English as your mother tongue interested in Chinese culture and Chinese language.
  • What our universities provide
    Hunan Normal University (HNU) is recommended.
    The mission statement of Hunan Normal University "puts emphasis on fundamental and quality education, while placing equal emphasis on the cultivation of talents who possess both application skills and research abilities."
    Up to 2006, it has cultivated over 200,000 students, including 4,000 international students. Hunan Normal University enjoys a high reputation in society for its excellence in education.
    HNU provides Academic Programs, and Chinese Degree Programs for international students, and right now Non-degree Chinese Programs including Chinese language courses and HSK Intensive Training Class, and Chinese culture courses, such as Chinese art, martial arts, calligraphy, paper-cutting, and traditional music, etc. are specially arranged for international students who attend program of Study & Practice in Hunan.
    Certificates are awarded to international students who attended this program and have passed all exams; HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) certificates are awarded to those who have passed the HSK examination.

  • Allowance for practice (half a year)
    HPEAIE offers good opportunities for international students to do oral English teaching practice in junior schools and high schools in Hunan for half of a year.
    And you can get total allowance of RMB14,500-17,000 yuan for your half-a-year teaching practice in junior schools and high schools and also you will be possible to get some other allowance according to your arrangements in summer/winter vacation.
    The total allowance is for your teaching practice, transportation, meals and travel in vacation.
